Experience the lives of 26 of China’s ethnic groups first-had at the Yunnan Nationalities Village. The park is an 84-hectare window into the traditional architecture, cultures, and religions of the minority groups in Yunnan. As you walk around and explore the village, you won’t just get to see beautiful houses and temples built in the unique style of each ethnicity – you’ll be treated to an authentic and fully immersive experience complete with members of the ethnic group wearing their traditional costumes, as well as performances and festivals.
One of the highlights is the Dai Village, featuring elegant bamboo houses and a Burmese temple. They are famous for their exquisite mastery of music and dance – the famous peacock dance originated from the Dai people. The Bai village is a visual treat as well. The largest village in the complex, it houses an imitation of the Three Pagodas in Dali and a spectacular Butterfly Spring filled with a multitude of dazzling butterflies.
