Yongdusan Park is situated in Junggu, Busan, South Korea. It is home to the 118m high Busan Tower and Yongdu Mountain, which the park is most famously known for. The mountain from afar is shaped like a dragon’s head, which the locals believe protects them from foreign invasions. The park spans over 69,000 square metres and houses over 70 different species of trees. Other attractions within the park include the statue of Korea’s 16th century naval hero Yi Sun-sin, the Museum of World Folk Instruments, the Exhibition Hall of World Model Boats and the Cheongdongyongtap or Bronze Dragon Tower which is a symbol of the country’s independence. Even if you don’t believe in dragons, this is still a good place to visit to learn more about Korea’s history.
