Xi’an Museum (西安博物馆)

A treasure trove of precious artefacts.

Spanning an impressive area of about 164,000 km², the Xi'an Museum was officially opened to the public in 2007. The museum with a style redolent of a traditional Chinese garden, is home to more 130,000 cultural relics such as porcelain, bronze bells, Buddha figurines, paintings, calligraphy and even precious jade pieces. Be awe-inspired by the almost 1000 year old bell hanging in the Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Cast in 1192 during the Jin Dynasty, the monks of the temple used to toll the bell every day. Make a wish as the predecessors have done so by sticking wishes written on papers and do not forget to toll the bell!
