Wrigley Memorial & Botanic Garden

To William Wrigley Jr., with love.

The iconic Wrigley Memorial stands solemnly against the lush green backdrop of plants and trees native to Catalina, in loving memory of the beloved Catalina Island patron William Wrigley Jr. The unique monument incorporates a blend of blue flagstone rock and native crushed stones, as well as colourful handmade glazed tiles, such as the famed “Catalina tile”, making for a wonderful architectural work of art.

The lovely botanical garden is home to a wide variety of endemic plants from Catalina Island, as well as the surrounding Channel Islands (fun fact: many of these plants are extremely rare, and grow naturally on one or more of the Channel Islands but nowhere else in the world!). Situated just 30 minutes away from downtown Avalon, visitors will be rewarded for their efforts up Avalon Canyon with stunning views of the surrounding cityscape and natural fauna, offering travellers of all types and ages a memorable, fun-filled day amidst nature at the Wrigley Memorial & Botanic Garden.
