Warsaw Fotoplastikon

Fancy a trip to olden Warsaw?

Have you ever experienced true stereoscopic theatre? It is highly likely that you have not, and so the Warsaw Fotoplastikon offers an incredible opportunity to view scenes just like the Polish people back in the day. It is, in fact, the oldest stereoscopic theatre in Europe that is still in business at its original location. It has been well over a century! You get to sit at the viewport and watch the images go by, arranged in themes. It could be images of a historic event or even travelogues.

It is worthy to note that the Fotoplastikon was more than just entertainment for the Polish people who went to see it. Historians, here’s a little nugget of information: the Fotoplastikon was often a place where different kinds of people met, including couples and in even more grave situations, for the Polish underground to have clandestine meetings during World War II. It is fortunate that this marvelous creation survived the wars, and remained to provide hope and comfort for a community struggling after a war. Your trip to Warsaw isn't complete without a quick trip to this significant piece from the past.
