A glowing phenomenon.
Maybe you've heard of the magnificent Waitomo Caves, which is one of the top items in "Kimi must-dos". Well, considering the spectacular sight you're going to see in the Waitomo Glowworm Caves, it's no surprise. It's unique to New Zealand, so you definitely can't miss out on this one.
Enter the Waitomo Glowworm Caves… and you’ll see immediately why it’s so beloved. The magical sight might trick you into thinking you have stepped into another world entirely, as millions of small blue lights brighten up the dark cave. And this is no man-made creation. The glowworms radiating these luminescent lights (by scientific name, Arachnocampa luminous) are only found in New Zealand. Accompanying this stunning galaxy of lights are the stalagmite and stalactite formations that have been forming for over 30 million years. No matter how you want to explore the caves, either by embarking on a peaceful boat ride or even Black Water Rafting (that is, cave tubing, and it’s for everyone!).
