Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate, Oman
Wadi Tiwi

A wadi too often overlooked.

Wadi Tiwi spreads over 36 kilometers: lush plantations and water that never seems to settle on a single color, and sheer cliffs that overlook some stunning sights (and dangerous drops). With so much greenery, it is no surprise that villages have settled in the area and Wadi Tiwi now has another name: “Wadi of Nine Villages”. Whether you want to swim about in the emerald pools (most, filled with boulders), or enjoy a hike to take in the stunning views at your own pace, Wadi Tiwi will surely delight you.

The sheer greenery and glistening pools are a delightful splash of color in the seemingly never-changing palette of sandy yellow. For the more adventurous among you, why not hike from Sooee? It is a two-day journey that promises to be both challenging and rewarding in its sights and promise of a dip in the cooling waters of the pools. For those of you heading down to the pools, watch your step and it’s always a good idea to have a local guiding your steps as you scramble every now and then, and climb downhill to get to the water that curves around the boulders and snakes through the jagged mountains. If you head to the village of Mibam, you can view not just one, but three breathtaking waterfalls! We promise you, this is one destination you don’t want to miss while in Oman!
