With tall peaks, a narrow valley and the massive Voringfossen thundering down from an insane height, you will feel the Earth beneath your feet tremble.
Voringfossen is a marvelous creation of nature located in the municipality of Eidfjord. Originating from the plateau of Hardangervidda, the water here nosedives from a 182-metre cliff in an enormous volume before joining the river in the gorgeous Måbødalen Valley below.
Its sheer strength draws visitors from every corner of the world. Often, visitors stand at the bottom of the valley to get a view of the waterfall along with its idyllic and gorgeous surroundings that is the Måbødalen Valley. Voringfossen can be a detour before or after visiting the nearby Hardangervidda Nature Centre in Eidfjord. Not very far away from Highway 7, it is a 30 minute walk from the main road to the observation point that is the bottom of the valley.
