Vlychos Beach

A quaint, coastal village overlooking cool blue waters: could there be a better place to unwind?

A relaxation spot true to the word, Vylchos Beach, located in the Saronic island of Hydra, is well-known for its simplicity and breathtaking scenery. Since this tiny island is not very far away from Athens, it is usually one of the next stops for visitors. Most prefer staying two to three nights as it is rather laid-back and quiet here. It is a popular honeymoon destination too!

The beach, which boasts clean, blue waters, and green hills that are dotted with vibrant flowers, is well-organised with vintage-looking umbrellas, sunbeds and tavernas overlooking the clear waters. The surrounding houses and cottages will surely transport you to yesteryears. Vlychos Beach is easily accessible by water taxis that dock at the port of Hydra, which is merely some 5 minutes away. Alternatively, you can take a walk along the coastal road past Kamini. Even though this will take about 40 minutes, you will get to cross the famous old stone arch bridge that takes you straight down to the beach.

Tips Before You Go
Don’t forget to bring your flip-flops or sandals along because the pebbles lining the shores can hurt your feet if they’re tender (hardly a feat worthy of mention).
