Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

Beauty in the heart of Miami.

Originally known as Villa Vizcaya, the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a stunning structure that sits in the neighborhood of Miami's Coconut Grove. This 20th-century estate is what American opulence looked like in those days: heavily inspired by European architecture, and a delight to explore. From its exterior to its interior, this impeccable villa has been preserved in its original state and invites visitors to admire it.

The Italian Renaissance style is evident in the winding hedges of the verdant garden, and in the presence of the native woodland landscape. This mishmash of architecture - Veneto, Tuscan Italian Renaissance, Mediterranean Revival and Baroque - has been accomplished elegantly, and you can savor the grandeur as you step inside. There's just so much to see that words do not do it justice. The Main house features ancient Roman sculptures, Renaissance tapestries and a generous smattering of centuries-old statues. There are many collections both within the house and in the gardens themselves, for not all collections are relics of the past. The villa also makes for the perfect backdrop at sunset, when the golden glow of the sun shines on this building carved out of Florida limestone. Head on down now to experience it for yourself!
