Capri, Italy
Villa San Michele

Likened to being on heaven, feel totally out of this world here.

Previously belonging to Swedish physician and author, Alex Munthe. “My home shall be open for the sun and the wind and the voices of the sea- like a Greek temple – and light, light, light everywhere!”, aptly described by Munthe in this manner, the location of the villa is perfect, scenic, welcoming in plenty of light every day.

A collector of items during his frequent travels, Munthe’s collection includes various Roman, Etruscan and Egyptian artefacts. Notable ones include the head of Medusa and also the marble bust of Emperor Tiberius. As you explore the Munthe’s extensive collection, with some two-thousand-year-old sculptures, you must make a wish as you rest your left hand on the Egyptian sphinx, looking out over the sea of Capri. Follow these instructions and who knows, your wish might actually come true! Surrounding gardens bursting with verdant greenery, you can find colourful hydrangeas, plump rose bushes and also pine trees. Romantic gardens that are sure to make you feel as if time paused momentarily, you are joined by a spectacular view of the island’s turquoise waters. Calming waves wash up on shore, time pauses just for you as you immerse yourself in this tiny bit of heaven.
