Villa Rufolo

A stunning villa boasting equally stunning views of the famous Amalfi Coast.

Originally belonging to the affluent Rufulo family, the villa was one of the largest and most expensive in that era. A grand villa, the Rufulos even hosted banquets for royalty! These included King Robert II of Naples and other Norman royalty.

An absolutely grand building, the beauty it possesses now can be attributed to Sir Francis Neville Reid, a Scottish botanist. He visited the villa in 1851, as the villa began to deteriorate as time passed. Instead of sneering at its demise, he shockingly, fell in love with the beauty beneath its aged exterior. The Moorish towers that soared to the sky and expansive rooms lured Reid, buying the villa and transforming the entire area. A stage jutting out with splendid views of Amalfi Coast, attending concerts, orchestras at this stage is simply breath-taking. Music accompanied by the salty ocean breeze and the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, nothing can be better than that. Complete with a splendid garden, known as “Garden of the Soul”, the multi-coloured flowers, lime trees and many exotic blooms, the vibrant colours surround you, immersing you in the tranquil atmosphere. A villa that hosts world-class concerts and performances, you are certainly missing out if you give this villa a miss.
