An outstanding park in Naples.
If you’re in Naples, Italy, then this iconic park won’t go unnoticed. Stretching a kilometer by the coast, this park of verdant greenery and outstanding sculptures was once only available to the Royal Family. Commoners were allowed access only on the day of the Festa di Piedigrotta - but that was a thing of the past. Today, locals flock to the park to enjoy it in its natural glory, maintained as well as it was in the past. With countless walking paths, playgrounds for the tots to run about in and a great many other amenities, it’s no wonder that you can compare it to New York’s Central Park, or London’s Hyde Park.
The Villa Communale also houses the Naples Tennis Club, the vintage Anton Dohrn aquarium (the oldest in Europe!) and the Naples Antiques Market. Music lovers, you will be delighted to find that there’s plenty of entertainment to be had here! The art nouveau bandstand is the best spot for an open-air concert, after all.
