Perhaps one of the most significant and empowering museums in Vietnam, the Vietnamese Women’s Museum cannot be missed. This museum is managed by The Women’s Union of Vietnam, a powerful movement in the nation that promotes gender equality, and is a way to pay homage to Vietnamese women across all generations. The museum showcases the women’s contribution to the many workplaces they have been involved in, be in in the office or the paddy fields. The photographs and film that depict the role of women and mothers during Vietnam’s are deeply moving and are most certainly not to be missed. The museum also houses information of the daily lives of women, including aspects of marriage, fashion and rituals. With over 1000 artefacts such as bracelets, earrings and clothes showcased, the museum allows you to take a step back into the past to witness how these women lived. Split into 3 main sections, namely “Women in Family”, “Women in History” and “Women in Fashion”, the exhibits here are presented in a coherent format in English and French for all to gain a good understanding of Vietnam’s women.
