Washington DC's Vietnam Veterans Memorial pays tribute to the fallen of the U.S. Armed Forces who fought in the Vietnam War. Consisting of three sections, the Three Soldiers statue, the Vietnam Women's Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, it is a humbling reminder of the losses suffered during the war.

This particular memorial is bound to stay with you for a long time - from afar, you might notice that the wall is unlike any other, reflecting its surroundings and forming a haunting scene with every step. As you trace the names on the wall, your reflection serves to tie the past to the future. South of the wall is the Women's Memorial, which celebrates the 265 000 women who served in the Vietnam War, many as nurses. The memorial stands in the form of a bronze structure 15 feet tall, of three women attending to a wounded soldier. The last is the Three Soldiers statue, which is bound to evoke many emotions as they stand at the top of a granite base as if looking down upon the memorial wall.
