Vietnam People’s Airforce Museum

A contemporary history of Vietnam’s Air Force.

The People's Air Force Museum in Hanoi is aptly located on the edge of Bach Mai Airfield, which is no longer in use. It was the defense command and center for the Vietnam People's Air Force (VPAF) during the Second Indochina War. Before you enter the museum, you will notice the wide grounds featuring jet fighters, helicopters, and even ground support vehicles. This is a static park, and not only does it include aircraft of the VPAF, but it also includes those of the Republic of Vietnam Air Force.

If you're curious to find out more about the history of the VPAF, this is definitely a crucial place to visit. Upon entry, you begin your journey of discovery of the VPAF, all the way from its foundation to its current day activities. Major areas of interest are the Second Indochina War and the Cambodian-Vietnamese War. You can peer at the biographies of the force's aces, their uniforms, and their flight suits. With this much to explore, you'll leave with a lot more knowledge than what you started out with.
