The Vietnam Military History Museum is situated in Hanoi and is otherwise known as the Army Museum. It houses an extensive collection of artefacts and military assets used throughout Vietnam’s war-torn history. Most suited for the self-proclaimed history and military buffs, the Vietnam Military History Museum is the one place to know more about the country during such tumultuous times. With plenty of authentic relics and accounts from former soldiers who had fought against the French and American forces, these all develop into one sensational experience as you come to realise the magnitude of the repercussion of such a controversial war. Some notable attractions include the wreckage of an American B-52 bomber, an M107 self-propelled gun and a military tank that had plugged through the gates of the Saigon’s Presidential Palace, ending the Vietnam War in 1975. There are also propaganda videos, improvised weapons and various exhibitions dating back to the Hong Bang Dynasty. This simply is not your regular museum which you should just forgo.

Tips Before You Go
Do note that to enter, visitors will be required to pay a small fee. As for the taking of photos, there is a surcharge. The museum can be accessed via a five-minute walk from iconic landmarks like the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. It would be best to set aside an entire afternoon to better relate to the experiences of the soldiers during such a traumatic time.
