Capri, Italy
Via Krupp (Phoenician Steps)

Deemed as one of the world’s most beautiful footpaths, it has now reopened, welcoming all to see its beauty.

Reopening after 30 years, this historic footpath had originally been dangerous due to falling rocks now welcomes all. German industrialist Alfred Krupp commissioned engineer Emilio Mayer, wanting to reach his yacht more conveniently from his accommodation. Thus producing a detailed route so beautiful, especially when seen from a bird’s eye view.

An extensive multi-million-dollar reconstruction was carried out, allowing for the pathway to finally be deemed safe, allowing all to step foot onto it, experiencing her beauty. Elegant hairpin-like bends are harmoniously arranged against the cliff face. Facing the endless sea, it spreads beyond the horizon, a spectacular Mediterranean blue. A mesmerising path, the views are equally enchanting, to locals and tourists alike. Pop by the telescope and have a gander at the many yachts, transporting passengers in the most luxurious way possible. With views like this, there’s no wonder why tourists and locals had previously sneaked in past the gates. The beauty of Capri is perfectly encapsulated here, thanks to Via Krupp’s opening, allowing everyone to see the postcard-perfect scenery.
