Vågakallen

One of the area’s best views found at the peak.

Home to undoubtedly one of the best views in Lofoten, the Vågakallen is a mountain that makes for a great climb. With a height of approximately 940m, you can pretty much see the entire district of Lofoten from the top on a good day. Martin Hoff Ekroll, Norwegian mountaineer, was the first man to conquer this magnificent beast, and he did so in the 1880s.

Visiting in the summer season is your best bet, as not only do you get clearer views, but it is also safer to make this climb with dry weather. Be sure to catch Vågakallen at midnight where the varying colours of the sky meld together, forming a view that is unparalleled! An indescribable view, head down there and see it for yourself! A challenging and exciting climb that promises spectacular panoramic views of the region, the Vågakallen offers it all.
