Island of Oahu, United States of America
USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor

A stunning memorial that honours and remembers the many honourable lives lost.

Situated right above the sunken USS Arizona, the memorial floats right above it, an absolutely apt reminder of the lives many American families lost. The sons, the brothers, the fathers and the spouses that proudly fought during the wars, dying honourable deaths.

Designed as a bridge over the USS Arizona, it is able to host 200 visitors at one time. On board this bridge, you are treated to a movie screening of the painful bombing, an experience hopefully no one else may ever have to experience anymore. A painful experience, your trip is complemented by the many other artefacts that document the event. From photos before and after the attack, to memorabilia, these personal items and personal recounts will definitely strike a chord in everyone’s hearts. Surrounded only by water and with the actual ship right beneath you, oil droplets of the USS Arizona continue to escape, often called “Black Tears of the Arizona”. The iridescent droplets float right up to the surface of the water, appearing like a beautiful rainbow in the water. A truly sad experience, the slight beauty in this just manages to be the salve, soothing the pain of such traumatic experiences happening.
