A sight for sore eyes, the vibrant colours of the flora and fauna offer respite from city monotone.

Feel the soothing effect of nature wash over you as soon as you step into this garden of green, red, blue, orange and every other colour under the sun. The cool house is a versatile room; In winter, the cool temperatures call the winter loving pomegranate, olive and strawberry trees to raise their heads and bloom. When summer rolls around, the toasty 28 degrees temperatures allow tropical plants to flourish with renewed vigour. Discover one of Switzerland’s largest orchid collection, where flowers hailing from far away lands of the cloud forests and mountains of South America feature. Here you can enjoy the visual treat of brilliantly red orchids dangling like firecrackers, delicate lilac clusters, burnt orange kelp-like petals and a myriad of other diverse shapes and colours that the orchid family is famous for.

One bloom is so valuable that a special room was constructed just to hold it. This is the enormous water-lily: Victoria. Her 2 metre wide lilypads sprawl across the basin of this heated greenhouse which mimics the Amazon Rainforest, while the pearl in the oyster - a baby pink lily - sits perched in the midst. You will be tempted to stay in this oasis forever, losing yourself in natures calming presence. But rest assured, when you finally do leave, it will be with a soothed spirit and a restored soul.
