Indonesia’s Niagara Falls.
Touted as the most beautiful waterfall of Java, the Tumpak Sewu Waterfall (or Coban Sewu Waterfall) resembles Toronto’s Niagara Falls with a wide curtain of flowing water, falling from an impressive height of 120-metres. Tucked within a long and deep ravine amidst dense, dark green foliage, the waterfall is perfectly picturesque and enthrals with its magnificent natural splendour.
Situated on the outskirts of Sidomulyo village, the Tumpak Sewu Waterfall is challenging to get to, but the payoff is immense. Adventure seekers will love trekking the steep descent down towards the bottom of the ravine via a series of makeshift bamboo stairs for a stunning, otherworldly view of the waterfall. Along the bottom of the ravine, visitors can explore the gorgeous surrounding natural landscape, bask in the cooling spray from the falls or just listen to the powerful cacophony of the water cascade that effortlessly showcases the rugged beauty of mother nature.
