Does a railroad petting zoo sound at all appealing to you?

Travel Town provides you the opportunity to get up close and personal with these steam locomotives. Enter this museum where it is absolutely free, no strings attached! With 40 over engines, cars and rolling stock, spend a day here and pretend you are the conductor of these trains.

As you walk into this exhibition, hop into the Union Pacific Dormitory or also known as “The Little Nugget”! An adorable name, this club car was specially designed for the first-class passengers of the Pullman company. Extravagant in every aspect, the club car was decked out in plush, red velvet seats, twinkling stars adorning the ceilings and of course, the best waiters and waitresses, donning gay nineties attire! The most luxurious and extravagant club cars of that time, “The Little Nugget” was a show-stopper of the 20th century. If fancy club cars aren’t up your alley, perhaps you’d might prefer a one-of-a-kind electric locomotive? The “Electra” is at your service, consuming so much electricity that cars that drove alongside were slowed down. “Electra” went on to take on noble tasks, aiding in clearing rubble from San Francisco’s earthquake and fire in 1906! With many more interesting locomotives, passenger cars, cabooses and motorcars, they each keep with them unique stories of lives previously lived. An eye-opening experience of the railroad transportation system in California, the tales of every engine and vehicle are sure to captivate you.
