From Buicks to Toyotas, Cadillacs to Isuzas, how would you choose to move?
If one were to talk about automobiles, the lion in the east is without doubt Japan and the Toyota Automobiles Museum proudly celebrates this fact through its beaming collection of cars that shine with the brilliance of being fresh of the lanes.
Around the oval circuit-shaped building, your first lap brings you face to face with the Toyoda AA, elegant front fenders and a design once considered a novelty identifying it as the first passenger car mass produced by Toyota. You return for a second lap and sight the Benz Patent Motorwagen, the first gasoline powered car to hit the streets. A third lap and you sight the postwar jewels of the locomotive world hailing from Japan, America and Europe. The retro 1955 Ford Thunderbird struts its white wheel rims and the 100-year-old Rolls Royce Silver Ghost looks not a day past 5. To complete the full cycle of Japanese lifestyle through the years, the annex is a collage of ephemera from album covers to refrigerators alongside other vehicles. The cars of the Toyota Museum represent more than milestones in engineering but rather mark milestones in our way of life.
