The best place to experience the rise and fall of the world’s most iconic cruiser – the Titanic.

With confusing streaks of black and white creating a dizzying illusion across the slanted walls, the Titanic Museum stalls any visitor mid-walk. Sectioned into 9 themed galleries designed to recreate each and every aspect of the misfortunate voyage, Belfast’s Titanic Museum is the largest Titanic experience centre in the world. Its expertly designed simulations, both physical and digital have in fact earned in the title of World’s Leading Tourist Attraction in 2016 at the World Travel Awards. As you head on your trail to trace the rise and fall of the world’s most iconic cruiser, you would easily be able to locate the museum. It’s found cemented right next to the very docks where it was designed and launched to its demise.

Past the simple steel barriers of the original Harland and Wolff Shipyard gates, take a seat through a ride that will bring you through the flying sparks of plates being welded together as an aquatic behemoth is constructed from scratch. You can even walk down the original slipways now red with rust and bordered behind glass barriers to imagine the bustle of ship hands and engineers working beneath the scattered components to be stitched whole. While you might begin the journey at the Titanic’s construction, each exhibit and replica will bring you a step further through the cruiser’s tragic tale. You will walk your way through the exuberance of the city at its launch, the revelries of its passengers at being part of a landmark voyage, all the way till their horrified realization that this ship would bring them to their watery graves.

At the very end, you should step out to an extension of the museum displaying the SS Nomadic, the World’s last White Star vessel. Each cabin and aisle adds a line to the history books recording man’s venture out to sea. From its birth to its death, the Titanic holds a special place in the hearts of people worldwide and there’s no better way to hear of the story than through the Titanic Museum of Belfast.

Tips Before You Go
Every Sunday, the museum runs a much acclaimed afternoon tea modeled after the levels of luxury and service made available aboard the RMS Titanic. You can enjoy this while seated at the opulent Titanic Suites, embellished with bronze statues and thick curtains mimicking the 20th Century interpretations of wealth. The tea spread itself is quite mouthwatering and worth the experience of being a passenger aboard the historical ship.
