Tibidabo

A Sacred Mountain above Barcelona, Tibidabo makes for beautiful experiences and exceptional views.

Standing at 512 meters, Tibidabo is the tallest mountain in the Serra de Collserola mountain range of Barcelona. Atop the peak is a beautiful neo-Gothic Catholic church, Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor, where you can marvel at the stunning stained glass windows and intricate stonework. Located at the top of the church is a bronze sculpture of Jesus Christ made by sculptor Josep Miret Llopart.

On the way up the mountain, you will also pass the Tibidabo Amusement Park, a park built in 1889. You will be surprised to see that a lot of the rides present date back to this time, withstanding the test of time. Another landmark is the Torre de Collserola, a television tower originally built for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Tibidabo can be reached by bus, car and funicular railway, the Tramvia Blau, the first of its kind in Spain built in 1901 and still is a cherished mode of transport for the locals.
