New York City, United States of America
Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site

Catch a glimpse of how Theodore Roosevelt spent his childhood days.

With so much to see and do in the vibrant city of New York, it would be nice to appreciate the life of one of America’s most prominent figures. Nicely nestled in between Broadway and Park Avenue South is the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site, located at 28 East 20th Street in Manhattan. This enchanting brownstone house is a re-creation of Theodore Roosevelt’s birthplace, and it looks exactly like it did back in 1865.

Theodore Roosevelt was born here on October 27, 1958, and lived with his family until 1872. This site has since been designated as a National Historic Site. Kudos to the President's widow, Edith, and his two sisters who have kindly refurbished the house with many original furnishings. Look out for its mansard roof and the doorway in Gothic Revival style. If you were always curious about Teddy Roosevelt’s childhood, then do pay this place a visit.
