The Windmills (Kato Milli)

Let the lovely Kato Milli delight your soul.

Constructed by the Venetians in the 16th century, the iconic Windmills (Kato Milli) are the first landmarks you will see upon your arrival by ferry to the charming island of Mykonos. In fact, it can be seen from every point of Mykonos village! Once used by the locals to grind wheat, they are no longer in use today, but are still much beloved by the residents of this sunny Greek island.

Best viewed from a distance, the snow-white, round shaped windmills with pointed roofs and fetching windows make for a lovely photograph with the stunning landscape of Mykonos in the background. Make sure to drop by to see the highly popular cluster of windmills at Kato Myloi with the cerulean blue sea in the distance. It will certainly be an unforgettable sight. Be sure to stay for the sunset to capture the golden glow bathing the windmills.
