The Weta Cave

Lights, cameras, action and most importantly, props.

Film buffs listen up! Movie magic is uncovered right here in Weta Cave in the suburb of Miramar. Upon stepping foot on the property of Weta Cave, you will be greeted three gigantic trolls crouching at a corner in the garden, with their ultra-realistic facial hair flowing in the direction of the blowing wind. Home to props created by the Weta Workshop, the Weta Cave is where you can learn a bit more about what goes into making the blockbusters you see on the big screen. With the likes of King Kong, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and many other acclaimed films on its credentials, the work done by this company is no mean feat. Not only can you learn about the craft of film making and its fascinating history here, but you can also bring home a piece of the action by purchasing one of the replicas available for sale. Therefore, grab your cameras and snap away at this haven for movie lovers and feel yourself transported into the land of your beloved characters.
