A legendary old ship.
How would you like to stay on board an ocean liner for a night? But beware, for the Queen Mary is one of the most haunted ships in America, and guests often complain of poltergeist activity in the night. Claims have been made of children laughing, the mysterious smell of cigar smoke in the air, and even glimpses of full apparitions. Of course, this only adds to the draw of the ship, as many grow curious or excited about a possible paranormal encounter. Perhaps such rumors are to be expected in a ship this old; the Queen Mary was voyaging around the world in the 1930s and retired only in 1967.
Since then, she has been permanently moored in Long Beach, and available for visits by curious tourists. In her heyday she received famous personages such as Winston Churchill, Greta Garbo, Clark Gable and more. During World War II, she ferried Allied soldiers and at one point was even hailed as the fastest passenger liner crossing the Atlantic regularly. So it’s not just any old liner you’re visiting in Long Beach, but one that has seen plenty of the world’s history and has a story of her own to tell. Just make sure you don’t see a ghost.
