The Nethercutt Collection

A magnificent collection of automobiles, locomotives, and self-playing instruments showcasing the engineering marvels of the early 20th century.

Welcome to one of the most amazing collections of classic automobiles in the world! The Nethercutt Collection is a museum filled with more than 250 gleaming classic cars, one of the largest collections of orchestrions (automatic mechanical musical instruments) and several vintage train carriages.

Most of the cars in the museum are from the 1930s or earlier. Although there are several familiar brands like Ford, Rolls Royce and Cadillac, many of the cars are from motor companies that have long faded from the roads and out of public memory. Look out for the beautiful 1930 DuPont Model G, which won the prestigious Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance.

Across the road, a separate building holds a curious collection of orchestrions. Many of these mechanical contraptions, all more than a century old, can imitate an entire orchestra. Each magnificent wooden cabinet holds violins, drums, accordions, and other musical instruments, and even more amazingly, all of them still work.
