Also known as the “House of Books”, what was once meant to be a skyscraper building has been turned into an charming bookshop and architectural beauty, eye catching on the outside and quaint on the inside. Pavel Suzor, the architect who designed the building in 1904, truly outdid himself with the grand structure, adorned with intricate carvings along its columns and windows, accompanied by green bronze statues near the rooftop. Its spacious interior provides ample space for all immerse themselves amongst the shelves, with collections of both Russian and English books. Even if the umpteen books do not interest you, you canenjoy the views of the city’s skyline whilst sipping on a cup of hot coffee at the second storey.
