Islamic art, among other genres, in full bloom here.

Khim Hoe Ng / Stockimo

Founded by notable lawyer Christian Ludvig David, The David Collection is home to an envious collection of masterpieces. Prior to being a museum in 1945, this building was once the residence of Christian Ludvig David himself. Located in Copenhagen, this museum is a great place to learn about Islamic Art in particular. As the Islamic Art collection has pieces dating as far back as the 7th century, and from countries all over the globe such as China and Spain, it has received global recognition for its extensiveness. Among its permanent exhibitions which are not limited only to Islamic Art, you can expect to find wonderful examples of European art from the 18th and 19th centuries as well and fascinating paintings and sculptures by Danish artists acquired by the founder himself between the years of 1880 and 1950.
