The Bell Tower

This tower is a real-life giant musical instrument and one of the best attractions in Perth.

A mere five-minute walk from the city of Perth is this unique tourist attraction filled with fascinating heritage dating back to pre-14th century. The Bell Tower was designed to house 12 of the existing 18 bells originally hung in London’s St Martin-in-the-Fields Church, where events were announced for centuries. Established in 2011 by architectural firm Hames Sharley, the 82.5-metre tower design comprises of a circular bell chamber inside a shell of reinforced concrete, which blocks the sounds from the river and city. Regarded as one of the largest musical instruments in the world, this landmark offers stunning 360-degree views of the Perth city skyline and the Swan River from the sixth-floor open-air observation deck. The only place in the world where you can view bell ringing in action or have a go at bell ringing yourself, it is no surprise that this is one of Western Australia's most unique and visited attractions.
