The Beehive, Alberta

Be enchanted by the beehive (although there are no actual bees to be seen).

Located in Banff National Park, Alberta, the Beehive, also known as the Big Beehive, is aptly named after its shape. At an elevation of a staggering 2270m, this mountain is located above the well-known Lake Louise, and is part of the Bow Range. The hike up to the peak is time-consuming, but certainly worth it as you gaze upon the scenic Canadian Rockies and stunning blue lakes below.

The mountain is also an important habitat to its wildlife, seeing how it is home to a number of rare and sensitive species such as the grizzly bears and pileated woodpeckers. The trail up is quite well developed, as the paths are paved, and there are benches to rest those aching feet. Along the way, you must make a stop at the teahouse near Lake Agnes, where you can warm yourself up with some hot tea and freshly-baked goods, all while enjoying the sublime view.
