Tel Aviv Museum of Art

Israel’s largest art museum is a work of design at its finest.

Even from afar, it is impossible to miss this marvelous contemporary building. The Tel Aviv Museum of Art, which is the largest art museum in Israel, is home to an array of interesting works by both local and international artists. Operating since 1932, the museum has flourished steadily through the support of many artists, art lovers and influential figures.

The new aesthetically pleasing wing is known as the Herta and Paul Amir building, and was inaugurated in 2011. A masterpiece in itself, it accommodates five floors of artwork (of which, two are underground). Art lovers will be delighted by the permanent displays, which include works by Monet and Picasso. Apart from traditional art, you will see plenty of contemporary works that hint at underlying social and political messages. On top of that, art films and foreign alternative films are played here regularly.
