Tate Modern

A name synonymous with the ‘cutting edge’ in the contemporary art world.

The brilliant choice of using the former Bankside Power Station as a gallery could not have been better. The vast space and layout which this industrial building offers are indeed befitting. Located in the Bankside area of the London Borough of Southwark, Tate Modern is the repository of the national collection of British art from 1900 to the present day. Its permanent displays take up the majority of the gallery space and are divided into eight sections, each with a distinct theme or subject such as ‘Artist and Society' and ‘Living Cities'. From time to time, Tate also showcases temporary exhibitions. As one of the largest and most prestigious museums of modern and contemporary art in the world, Tate Modern is a gallery not to be missed.
