The oldest park in Taichung city, Taichung Park was built in 1903, during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan. Located in the heart of the city, the park is frequently visited by locals and visitors. It is also an important landmark in the city, and is considered one of the eight scenic spots in Taiwan. Featuring pretty landscapes, it includes an artificial lake measuring 13,530 square metres, European-styled buildings, pavilions, arch bridges and many more. With its tranquil setting, this park is perfect for a walk during the day. Outdoor facilities like kayaking, playgrounds and an outdoor platform are also available, making this place a popular getaway for families.
