Ta Cu Mountain

Vast expanses of lush rainforests, flora and fauna and limestone landscapes that beckons to all nature lovers.

Ta Cu Mountain is situated in Phan Tiet and is made out of 250,000 square metres of lush rainforests, wildlife, limestone karsts and Buddhist structures. The place is easily accessible from Mui Ne Town - it takes about an hour by car to get there. Travellers can also opt for a two hour hike through the verdant rainforest or a 10 minute cable car ride to reach the very peak of the mountain. The former option is best for those with good stamina as you may need to climb a rather steep stairway to reach the main pagoda. There are smaller shrines and a local restaurant along the way where you can stop by to catch a breather while admiring the breathtaking view before you. Taking the cable car also has its merits as you will be treated to a spectacle of vertigo-inducing views of Thuan Nam Town, Ham Thuan An Sea and the Ke Ga Lighthouse. Not forgetting, those vast rice paddies and fruit plantations.

Tips Before You Go
Do come in covered footwear especially if you are expecting to embark on the long trek to get to the mountain. Also you are recommended to stop by the temples and shrines to pay your respects upon arriving. Needless to say, the best time to climb the Ta Cu Mountain is during spring when the sea of flowers covering the mountain is in full bloom. As for which part of the day to come, early mornings are the best as the misty morning will translate to layers of what seems like clouds enveloping you with each step up the mountain, evoking a sense of otherworldliness.
