Swiss Museum of Ceramics and Glass (Musée Ariana)

A true beauty inside and out.

If you are crazy over ceramics and gaga over glass, then the Swiss Museum of Ceramics and Glass, also known as the Musée Ariana, is the place for you. It might surprise you to learn that this is the only museum in the country with a focus on kilncraft. The history of the building traces back to the 19th century, when founder Gustave Revilliod named the museum after his mother Ariana, and generously gifted it to the city of Geneva. The building is a fusion of Neo Classical and Neo Baroque architectural styles, a sight to behold in itself, and within it, is home to over 20,000 glass and ceramic artefacts. Centuries of glass and ceramic wares from Europe and the East reside here, from pottery to porcelain, from stoneware to earthenware. Revel in the beauty of the museum and its contents by visiting the Swiss Museum of Ceramics and Glass.
