Sunset Beach

A quiet slice of beach living.

It’s best known for being an iconic coastal sprawl, but there’s more to Sunset Beach than just sun, sea and sand. It also includes the Californian beachfront community that was immortalized in the iconic 20th century soap opera ‘Sunset Beach,’ which featured the imagined lives and loves of residents in the community. Many of the shots featured the sun dipping over the brilliant orange horizon, creating an idyllic effect that many still dream about today. It puts you in mind of a more nostalgic time and a slower pace of life, when people walked their own dogs and picked up their mail from the front porch. Some might say this was the American Dream at its finest. Even though it’s now a part of the wider Huntington Beach area, it still retains its own distinctive personality and flavor. You can take a memorable stroll here, grab something to eat at one of the homegrown restaurants or cafes that line the Pacific Coast Highway, or of course—catch the sunset while sitting on this iconic strip of sand.
