Stuttgart City Library (Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart)

Get blown away by the futuristic interior of the Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart.

An architectural marvel, designed by Eun Young Yi, a Korean architect, the new Stuttgart City Library is truly a library unlike any other. This 40m high structure has a stunning façade made up of shining glass blocks which glows in an iridescent blue in the dark. Look out for the four silver inscriptions of the word ‘library’ in four different languages: English, Arabic, German and Korean on its outer walls.

The futuristic interior of this intellectual and cultural centre is what gets everyone talking. Like a stunning piece of contemporary installation art, the sparkling white décor, staircases and the colourful books make a striking contrast. With 8 floors divided into different departments, there is something that will interest everyone and the best part is that entrance is free for all. With cosy seats and state of the art facilities, the library has an extensive collection of books, CDs and DVDs. Do not forget to head to the rooftop to catch a stunning view of Stuttgart city.
