Steinsdalsfossen Waterfall

An effusive spray of white water near a picturesque village.

A favourite spot of the Emperor Wilhelm II of Germany, Steinsdalsfossen Waterfall is one of the rare few waterfalls where you will actually get the opportunity to get up close and personal with nature. Just behind the cascade of water, a walkway cuts through a naturally sheltered walk-under path. Standing mere centimetres away from the waterfall, the thunderous roar of the gushing waters is bound to be awe-inspiring. The walkway also offers a panoramic sight of the quaint little village with distinct burgundy, mustard, and white houses. To catch sight of the waterfall in its full frontal impressiveness, head on down to the small bridge, where you can observe the stream flowing from the waterfall. From this vantage, you will be face-to-face with the extraordinary sight of white ribbons cascading onto a bed of rocks whilst framed by verdant greenery. Get geared up for a countryside road trip where you will be royally blown away by the remarkable Steinsdalsfossen Waterfall.

Tips Before You Go
If you visit between May and June (which is the typical holiday period), you will be treated to the sight of snow melting, which makes the cascading waterfall almost twinkle. It is easily accessible as well, so anyone can come visit, regardless of whether you’re travelling with hyperactive young children or the elderly who may have difficulty walking.
