Stalheimsfossen is arguably one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the whole of Norway. Situated north of the village of Voss in Hordaland county, this stunning waterfall is bound to take your breath away. While not as tall as its neighbour, the Sivlefossen, the Stalsheimfossen still stands at a staggering 126 metres nonetheless.

You can reach the Stalheimsfossen via road by travelling down the serpentine and winding Stalheimskleiva, which offers many viewpoints and pockets from where you can just stop and gaze at the Stalheimsfossen. Be sure to shoot some photos from these points as they offer simply stunning views of the sceneryl. Mountainsides sporadically covered with moss and large natural rock structures, along with the lush greenery of the landscape serve as a magnificent backdrop to the waterfall.

Should you want to have a close-up look of this magnificent wonder, you can take a 5 minute walk to the base of the Stalheimsfossen to gaze at the waterfall in all its glory. Be careful with regard to how close you go though, you surely do not want to get thoroughly soaked by this waterfall’s sprays!

Tips Before You Go
If you wish to get up close, perhaps bring along a raincoat to avoid getting yourself wet. There is a footpath for about 1km along the river to the bottom of the falls starting from an old road which crosses the river - you can consider walking along here to get close to the falls.
