St. Petersburg Pier

Add your own special moment to this collage of a town’s memories, the icon of St Petersburg.

For the people of St Petersburg, the pier is a special sign of pride in their small town along Tampa Bay. In operation since 1971, generations of residents have grown familiar with the iconic inverted pyramid with its vibrant colors standing out against the calm blue backdrop. A center for families, shopping and great food, the pier has always been a hive of activity.

After 30 years, the pier is getting a makeover with the introduction of ‘The Lens’, a modern retake of the landmark. Stretching from the edge of downtown into the Tampa Bay by 1265 feet, the Pier District will feature playgrounds for the kids and kayaking sites for the slightly more adventurous. We can’t leave the center without a taste of local cuisine and as a bonus for book enthusiasts; you’ll even have the chance to immerse yourself in the Florida of decades past. Doc Ford’s Rum Bar and Grille is one of just four outlets opened up by author Randy Wayne White as a spin off from his bestseller featuring CIA detective Doc Ford. Old or new, St Petersburg Pier continues to amuse its visitors endlessly.
