St. Patrick’s Cathedral

The largest Neo-Gothic-style Catholic cathedral in North America.

Prominently located on the east side of Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, St. Patrick's Cathedral is a distinguished landmark in New York City. A majestic structure constructed out of brick clad in marble, the cathedral can accommodate a total of 3,000 people. A 1000 silver pieces as a gift from King Charles III of Spain added to the donations and kickstarted the construction of the church.

Look out for the beautiful rose window created by Charles Connick as well as the main block of the cathedral, which is made of Tuckahoe marble. Then, set foot inside to see the awe-inspiring Pietà, sculpted by William Ordway Partridge, which is three times larger than Michelangelo's original version. Another fact worthy of note is that Billy the Kid was christened “Henry McCarty” at the church, where his parents had married.
