St. Mary’s Cathedral

A sacred place of worship with stunning architecture make for an interesting spot to bow in reverence and take many beautiful shots.

On the peak of a hill in East Perth sits St. Mary's Cathedral, the church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Perth and the seat of its Archbishop. The beautiful cathedral was constructed in 3 phases - the first completed in the late 18th century, the second in the 1920s with a majestic Perpendicular Gothic edifice, and the third only recently completed in the 2000s.

Its interiors are luxurious and ornate, to match its stunning exterior facade. Exceptionally beautiful at dawn, dusk and twilight, the colors of the sky bring the Cathedral to life, making for an extraordinary photo opportunity. At twilight, the lights of the Cathedral also allow it to stand as a beacon against the dark skies.
