St. Jerome Royal Church (San Jerónimo el Real)

A stunning church of the patron saint of Madrid, where royals graced with their investitures.

The remaining structure of the Hieronymite monastery, San Jerónimo el Real is a Roman Catholic Church in Madrid. Even though it has always been close to the royal palace of Buen Retiro, and the investitures of the Prince of Asturias and King Juan Carlos I wer held in this church, it has interestingly never been properly classified as a royal church. This is due to the church being associated with St. Isidore, the patron saint of Madrid, who is a symbol saint for manual laborers. With a beautiful facade on its exterior and beautiful stained glass windows inside, San Jerónimo el Real is a part of Spanish culture, a wonderful place to visit for those looking to immerse themselves in Madrid's exceptional heritage.
