Spirited Garden (생각하는 정원)

Nature and mankind intertwines at this garden.

Originally named Bunjae Arpia, it was renamed to the Spirited Garden in 2007, to commemorate its 15th anniversary and to put the garden in the international spotlight. In the Spirited Garden, hundreds of potted plants and trees reside, cultivated from a wasteland of rocks by a single person. It is very apt for this garden to be located on Jeju Island, an island that is well-known for its natural beauty.

Visitors can walk around the garden and get awestruck by the beautiful bonsai trees and the stunning surroundings. Against a backdrop of artificial waterfalls, lakes and grass fields, this place really showcases what man and nature can do when they join forces. One of the more prominent features of this park is the use of Jeju’s famed black volcanic stones to frame the bonsai trees, which seemingly sets the plants in a natural setting of Jeju Island!
