Soundscape Park

An outdoor landscaped park in Miami fitted with movie screens.

At the New World Centre is the park that is both somewhere to relax, work out or have a picnic, and also enjoy screened shows and concerts. With the long American history of outdoor cinemas dying out, the Soundscape Park stands out as one where movies and screenings of the New World Symphony still attract large crowds.

From October to May, they screen family-friendly movies every Wednesday and Thursday, attracting crowds of 300-400 people easily. The community comes together, bringing foldable chairs, picnic mats and snacks. The New World Symphony also screens all their performance for free on the screen outside, so if you want to enjoy a concert but want to have a picnic at the same time, you can do it for free. Jackson Health System also runs Yoga Mornings at Soundscape Park, and there’s no better way to start your mornings. Regardless of skill and experience level, Yoga Mornings welcomes everyone and is a rain-or-shine event (if it rains, they move it indoors into the New World Centre).

Of course, you can head to the park just to run on the park paths, surrounded by artificial canopies with real trees growing inside, making the park look futuristic and incredibly beautiful. Designed by a Dutch architectural firm, the innovative and futuristic designs make everything, including the park benches, a photo opportunity!
